Chronic hip pain is a prevalent problem that significantly impacts daily functional activities, and its management often requires a tailored, non-surgical approach. This article examines various non-operative treatment strategies for managing chronic hip pain, with a focus on conditions such as osteoarthritis (OA), iliopsoas bursitis, labral tears, and greater trochanteric pain syndrome. Traditional therapies, including physical therapy, pharmacological treatments like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and corticosteroid injections, and lifestyle modifications, remain the first-line options. Emerging modalities such as biologics, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, and shockwave therapy are gaining attention for their potential to improve outcomes in certain hip pathologies. The effectiveness and safety of these interventions are discussed, with an emphasis on evidence-based practices. This review aims to provide clinicians with a comprehensive framework for optimizing non-surgical management of chronic hip pain, thereby minimizing the need for invasive procedures.
